EDIT
This is not really how I feel; I just wrote it at the time. At least, I don’t feel that vehement about it.
END EDIT

I’m back at the ‘ville alright, and it certainly didn’t take to long to
get extremely peeved by the rules.  A summer at home, where I’m
allowed to be mature and make discernment calls on my own…pretty
much, live a normal life of christian freedom.

Then, back to the ‘ville and the Hill!  Which, by the way, is
dead.  No spirit left here; feel free to drop by whenever you want
ladies, there will be no chanting.  I’m taking some time to come
to grips with it, just something I have to do every year when I get
back.  Sacrifices must be made to stay sane.  Pretty much,
shutting my brain off, except my own theological research, bonding and
spiritual growth with the Palmer boys, and studying engineering.
Alas, and such, so forth.  And not having any more of this.
Beds lead to making babies.  As does holding hands.

Enjoy having your discernment done for you; soon, you, child, shall grow up and make decisions on your own.

You are officially fired.  How could you leave without saying goodbye?!  The next time you come back home–I will have moved!  You MUST visit me at Calvin for sure now…..seriously….please?

Spiritual freedom doesn’t mean abandoning the rules…………………………..

And………. the rules come with the college.  Sheesh.  If you don’t like them………..ummmmmmmmm……………… don’t come …….. here? …………..      You could go here.  Or here.

I feel like everyone jumps all over the rules.  Like it’s politically correct to do it.  Like it’s a must for coolness.

This needs to be an in-person talk.  I really like discussing this.  No joke.  I’m all about rules.  I understand that you have to draw the line somewhere, and it’s a freaking human institution.  It doesn’t claim to be God, and it’s not perfect.

Ha, you saved it!  Lol….. but you might as well have deleted it.  You sort of wrote it off.  Heh, it works.

  4. Hey, eat with me and Jaimes on Friday at noon!!! Upchucks, k?

C’mon… you know you want to! We can talk about this stuff. And all other stuff. I’m anxious to talk to you about something, actually…

  5. Yay for the ‘ville… boo for the rules. Common.. I have to make my bed all the stinkin time…and take out the trash all the time and make sure the door is always locked.. blah blah blah. haha. But I still love it here. I’ve realised that a bunch of stupid rules is worth it when you make friends who support and grow your relationshp with Jesus, and fellow believers. This place has such a remarkable effect on everyone who comes here. It’s good to step back from everything emotional and just live life. It’s also very smart to do during college. But.. Holding hands doesn’t necessarily lead to making babies…. if it were always true.. some of us would be in trouble. *wink*

Thank you for being the man that God has created you to be, a man who desires to put God first and help those around you do the same. You’ve been such an encouragement to me. We’ll talk. heh.

i also thought i would let you know that my hair is rather long. i looked in the mirror when i ws brushing my teeth and thought “my hair is getting long. i should tell monkey, he would be so happy” i will get it trimmed so it can keep growing healthy, and then i bet after it gets long i will cut it again because when it is long it is unmanageable, but i won’t cut it before sending you a picture. it is past my shoulders by a few inches…aren’t you so happy?!?!

  8. i love the rules….i follow every last one of them….cause i am a perfect Cedarville student…

and if you believe that, I will, as the old country songs says, sell you ocean front property in Arizona…

haha..really, i dont like the rules, but i also dont mind them much, its just how life is here, so i can deal with it…i just wish RD’s and RA’s had more flexibility…
